About Dr. Shafik Sachedina’s Education and Work

Dr. Shafik Sachedina has his roots from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where he was born in 1950. He moved to the United Kingdom after his high school studies and enrolled at the Guys Hospital Medical and Dental School based in London. Dr. Sachedina would then graduate in 1975 as a dental surgeon where he practiced for many years in England before developing other business interests under the health industry. Nonetheless, after settling in the United Kingdom and working in the country, Dr. Sachedina became a citizen of the country where he holds many senior positions as a leader in different health organization such as the Sussex Health Care.

Dr. Shafik Sachedina also works as a volunteer at the Ismaili Community Institutions. He is a leader at the Jamati Institution and one of the members of the committee at the Aga Khan Development Network. The Ismaili community institutions are in 16 primary locations where Dr. Sachedina operates. His central role is to provide an interface link between the Ismaili communities from Central Asia and the Aga Khan Development Network Programs. What’s more, Dr. Sachedina has previously served as the UK’s president of Ismaili Council for two terms as a volunteer and is the chairman at FOCUS besides being one of the members at the Ismaili Leader International Forum.

About Dr. Shafik Sachedina’s Leadership at the Sussex HealthCare

As a business minded individual, Dr. Sachedina went ahead and established a health and nursing home in West Sussex, London, together with his colleague known as Shiraz Boghani. The nursing home is known as the Sussex Health Care where it has been in operation for more than two decades. Further, Dr. Shafik Sachedina serves as the joint chairman and co-founder health care center that was established in 1985. Equally important, Sussex Health Care is ISO 9000:2000 certified besides being an award-winning home due to its remarkable services that it has provided over the years.

Furthermore, Sussex Health Care facility offers quality customized services for its patients where it caters for the elderly and treatment of selected mental disorders. Some of the treatment services that the facility treats include the individuals with neurological disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia among others. Also, Dr. Sachedina employs a leadership strategy that empowers the employees of Sussex to give the best services including the providing for the recreation and leisure activities for the patients at Sussex Health Care.
